Stephan Schinagl is new Head of Purchasing

Stephan Schinagl (40) has taken over as head of purchasing at hop specialist BarthHaas effective January 1, 2022. He succeeds Peter Hintermeier (63) who has become one of the company’s managing directors.

Schinagl has been with BarthHaas since 2008 and worked in the purchasing department since 2010. From 2013 Schinagl, who holds a degree in agricultural engineering, was responsible for international purchasing and from 2016 his responsibilities also included the administration and logistics of supply contracts from all hop-growing countries. “I’m greatly looking forward to working with a strong team to organize our domestic and international purchasing activities”, says Stephan Schinagl commenting on his new role.

The move is connected with the reshaping of BarthHaas from an owner-managed to an owner-controlled company: Regine Barth (51) and her cousin Stephan Barth (60), who had been managing partners since 2002 and 1992, respectively, have moved to the supervisory board. Peter Hintermeier and Oliver Bergner (54), who assumed executive responsibility for the company in January 2022, are long-serving members of the management team.

As Managing Director of BarthHaas, Peter Hintermeier knows that the purchasing department is in good hands with his successor: “By virtue of his international business experience and his passion for hops, Stephan Schinagl is ideally suited for this position.”
